How to Declutter Fast
Having the right "plan of attack" when decluttering your home is vital to your decluttering success. This is something that is underestimated on a large scale by many people who are trying to get their home in order, and it is why most times they end up failing to get anything really accomplished and feel more frustrated.
This has been true for me because I end up getting overwhelmed and quitting unless my mind is in the correct mode for fast decluttering and organizing. I hate it when I give up on a project because I get overwhelmed and just sick of trying. What makes all the difference is where my head is at. I have to have the right mindset or I will fail.
Having the right plan of attack is all about choosing the correct goal for the decluttering. You should always set a goal before you attempt to do any decluttering. This is like other areas of life where goals are so important; you need to stick to your goal so you don't get off-track and overwhelmed.
Your goal that you've chosen should be small and easy to accomplish, and then do not do anything that detracts from you reaching that goal. Resist getting distracted and branching off into other tasks. Focus only on the tasks at hand that will lead to the completion of your goal! This is an instance where you don't want to focus on the big picture, just worry about getting your small goal completed.
Why do I keep repeating myself about sticking to your goal? Well, for one, it gives you an area you can look back and see definite improvement in. But, more important than that, it makes you feel great because you accomplished your goal and will be more inclined to continue on the path the "clutter-free bliss". By taking on your clutter problem one step at a time you'll soon have a comfortable, organized home you can be proud of.
